Well f*ck.
yeah, my bus got onto the Bridge JUST as the first police cars arrived. I saw the police jump out of their cars. I wasn’t fully aware of what was going on but saw the traffic on the bridge had stopped so I got off.
Then I heard the word “shooting”. A touch confused. I started walking over the bridge to get my train home, but a police officer was running towards us waving his free arm at us yelling “get away!” multiple times. At this point everyone seemed to simultaneously realise this was serious and we ran like f*ck!
i got onto a side street thinking it was calmer. Then ten seconds later another officer shouting the same thing and I ran again with some other people. Just as I’m sending my family another voice message I hear the gunshots.
Scary.
I hope anyone else who was in London today is okay.
well bloody done to the brave civilians who tackled that maniac. Foolish but my god, how very brave. Respect to you.
So sad to hear about the member of the public who died. My sympathies.
But blimey do the police respond fast here. There were about three to five cars within 30 seconds of each other.
Im still rather shaken but finally nearly home. This all happened just over 4 hours ago. I payed low in a cafe near Aldgate for a while. Sirens were going on for ages.
Again, I’m fine and hope everyone else is.
